Bai Tu Long National Park is in the Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don district, Quang Ninh, about 200km to the east from Hanoi.
Bai Tu Long National Park has the marine ecosystems with 2/3 of its area is marine surface and is the repository of many genetic samples of rare animals and plants species which have been listed in the Red Book.

The park has a total area of 15,783 ha, of which forest area is 6,125 hectares. The rest 9.650ha includes 40 islands and the sea surface, tidal wetlands. In which, ecological area of Ba Mun island is the core area of the national park. The animal and plant species living in the forest and the water of Bai Tu Long National Park are abundant and rare, high value for conservation of genetic resources.
According to the survey, there are over 178 aquatic plant species, 119 fish species, 132 invertebrate species, 106 coral species and dozens specific hunting birds such as the Burmese hawks, Japanese falcon, black kite, white-rumped shama, Hainan flycatchers...

The highlight is the Bat Cave in Cai Lim, Tra Ngo Lon island. This is a wide area of about 10 hectares of mangrove forests. The topography of the Bat Cave is not directly exposed to seawater. The sea water flows through underground caves combines with the fresh water flows down from the mountain slopes to create the diversity of plant and animal species. There are species of fresh water animals such as frogs, parody, snakes, together with saltwater species such as shrimp, clams...
Bat Cave is home to thousands of bats. Currently, Bat Cave is also home to animals such as otters, mongoose, foxes. Especially the monkeys present very often here including the ones with golden fur and white breast.
This is also a protected area of natural landscape, cultural and historical conservation with such archaeological cave Soi Nhu where scientists discovered the existence of the ancient Vietnamese around 14 thousand years ago.
Bai Tu Long National Park also includes Minh Chau commune, which owns natural beaches with white sand. Above the beach is the primeval forests spread over an area of 14ha which is very suitable for eco-tourism development.
