The island got its name due to its look like three peaches closely laid together and the highest is at about 23m. The island is located in the southeast of Halong bay, near Cat Ba island.

The tale of the island is that: There was a fairy named Ut who had fallen in love with a poor fishman living on Halong bay. Because she wanted him to live with her forever, the fairy offered him her three magical peaches from heaven. When Jade Emperor got to know everything, He got very angry and turned the three magical peaches into three rocky islands. Since then, every human being can appreciate the 3 peaches from the heaven.

Although the beaches serve bathing only 2 - 3 hours a day because in the rest of the day time, the beaches are submerged in the sea water, still there are thousands of tourists come here to admire the beach and the beauty the Creator has endowed around here.
